  1. You used recipe from Alice Waters' book? Hmm... Alice Waters came to Hotchkiss for a talk when I was a junior and to be honest she wasn't really a great speaker. And people were being so rude to her during question/answer session and I felt really sorry for her. Anyways, that was my random spazz on your blog. But I do remember her saying something like... how she picked up a fresh octopus from the ocean, pounded it really hard against the rock on the shore and ate it.
