"Joy & Its Causes"

I enjoyed listening to this talk by Buddhist teacher Jack Kornfield while shifting books this afternoon in the library.

It's nice to be home for the weekend. I've been eagerly anticipating cooking, running, beading, and spending time with my family.

First Day

Today was my first full day back at Bowdoin. Despite feeling a little overwhelmed in the morning by all the little things I had to do, I really loved buying spinach at the Farmer's Market on the Brunswick green in the afternoon and then cooking myself dinner: spinach and tempeh with tahini sauce. And I made a fun discovery at Hannaford: an olive bar (like a salad bar, but devoted to different kinds of olives). Right now I'm sitting on the steps outside of the Bowdoin Admissions Office after finishing my dinner, which I brought with me as a picnic. The sky is a pretty blue/pink color, and birds are chirping in the background.

We've been shifting around furniture/decorating the room, and it's starting to feel more comfortable. Will post photos soon.
